Boddingtons Lane Work
The Turner-Dumbrell Foundation is developing long-term plans to revitalise the native wildlife and plants on its land at Lodge Hill and the neighbouring Bowries Fields.
The overall plans won’t be finalised until an ecology survey, funded by the South Downs National Park Authority, is completed at the end of the summer, but some initial work is due to start next week.
On Monday 6th February from 9.30am the Monday Group will start clearing some of the undergrowth from the verge along the northern side of Boddingtons Lane between the junction with Lodge Hill Lane and the footpath to Lodge Hill.
The work will involve removing brambles, bracken and small self-seeded saplings which will be burnt on site, and it is anticipated that it will take three to four Monday mornings to complete.
Once the clearance is completed our specialist contractors will finalise a line for a new native hedge, a split chestnut post-and-rail fence and a native wild flower verge.
